Ocean Day Events
Background
As part of the effort to observe Ocean Day and Ocean Week, the project aims to create a clean and fresh oceanic space and preserve marine ecosystem by removing marine debris and wastes left untended around ports.
Events are intended to promote a consensus and participation from local community and coastal cleanup is implemented jointly by private citizens and government for the purpose of observing and promoting Ocean Day.
Major activities
Coastal cleanup and ocean cleanup campaign is conducted jointly by private citizens and government.
Prior consultation with related agencies and groups ensures effective implementation of events.
Around ports: marine debris is cleaned up from port waterfronts.
Beach areas: Cleaning activities are to let beach visitors experience clean ocean.
